Review of Comfort Lapdesk from Logitech

Logitech Comfort Lapdesk

If you own an Apple notebook, when at home, you probably use it away from a desk in other convenient places such as the bed, the sofa or on the floor. You probably also know how uncomfortable these places can be and how hot your notebook often gets. Today, we'll take a look at the Comfort Lapdesk from Logitech, which is an affordable and worthwhile investment for any MacBook owner.

The Comfort Lapdesk serves a dual purpose in helping to protect your precious Apple notebook from overheating while providing an ergonomic design for use. It is designed with a 4-layer heat shield to protect your body when your MacBook becomes extremely hot. The underside is made of a soft air-mesh fabric that feels really great on your legs. With a sturdy 12-degree angled flat, stable surface, the Comfort Lapdesk is optimized for prolonged use while improving leg and neck comfort.

Coincidentally, the white and silver color makes the Comfort Lapdesk a great match for both Apple's current aluminum line-up and the older white polycarbonate ones also. It has a one-size-fits-all design and comfortably fits  the 13-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch models. It is extremely lightweight and can be easily tucked away when not in use.

It is important to note that this is a lapdesk and nothing more - it was also specifically designed to be used while you are in a seated position. If used in other positions, you will find that your MacBook tends to slide a lot. The only problem we found with the Comfort Lapdesk is that the surface is extremely slippery. It would have been great if they used a material with a little bit more friction for the top panel - something similar to the material that Apple uses for the humps at the bottom of the unibody ones.

Overall, we love the Comfort Lapdesk and definitely recommend giving it a try. It is available for only $39.99 and can be ordered from Logitech's website. (Currently it is to be sold out, but be sure to let them notify you when it is available) Be sure to check out our gallery for some more pictures.
