The next build of Apple's upcoming OS, Snow Leopard, will introduce some pleasant surprises. Apple has completely rewritten the Finder in their own native Cocoa environment. The current Finder is written in Carbon, a transitional language that helped developers move from OS 9 to Mac OS X. iTunes may also eventually see this port to Cocoa in Snow Leopard.
Apple will also be introducing a new feature called ImageBoot. This will allow you to install multiple disk images on an external drive and boot from it. This will be great for developers testing multiple OS versions or other installs.
Snow Leopard will include out-of-the-box exchange support in iCal, Mail and Address Book. Apple Insider notes that the upcoming build does include prelimary steps to achieving this. Since, it is still in its early stages however, Apple requests that developers focus on specific aspects.
