Apple Event on March 24?

Last week, we received anonymous tips from two different sources that hint at an Apple media event in late March - possibly March 24th. Apple is said to be announcing a new Mac mini, iMacs with the new NVIDIA chipset, Mac Pros with Xeon processors along with a pleasant 'surprise'. While we have no way of proving the credibility of the sources, recent information that we have obtained has led us to believe that the information may be correct. Here's to seeing a preview of Snow Leopard thrown in the mix!

An affordable desktop, with some upgradability would be nice. Chances are it will be more rehashed mac's with new (higher) pricetags. Just what failing economies need right now.

Damnit, i just ordered an imac for my mom yesterday. Will it just be the nvidia chipset or will the actual look of it change at all. If so, the imac will start shipping in 3 days, will i be able to cancel it?

I just got a pay out from my insurance company, been trying to track down an iMac. Everyone seems to be out of stock. To me, and after doing a quick google search, that points to an Apple event in the near future. 24th March? Hmm I can wait that long I think.

I just sent my 7 day old Mac Pro back to Apple in anticipation of the next Mac Pro. I will really miss it but at the same time I would have been sick if Apple released a new one just weeks later. On the other I could be waiting another 3 months with only the Windows hour glass to keep me company!
Note to Apple: If you had come clean about any new revision dates I may have just kept the Mac Pro and I am sure right now there are lots of others with the pause button on their credit cards firmly pressed.

That will be great. i'll buy a new iMac. *HAPPY*
But of course the price will starting at 1299$, not at 1199. But they do well, if they'll start at 1199$.

Aww man me too! I miss his amazing presentations. I hope each day that he gets better soon. I look up to him. Hes such an inspirational speaker, and i love his funny presentations and seeing him unveil the coolest products in this world. i'M hoping he'll announce Snow Leopard

As a Mac user of some 20 years I remain highly skeptical of any rumours concerning Apple.
If there were any truth in the detailed speculation currently circulating on the configuration of the expected Mac Mini, there are unfortunately no suggestions that it will finally support multiple monitors, and if it doesn't there will be a riot.
IHMO, Apple is walking on a tight-rope with its desktop line up and it's time they started listening to users rather than constantly developing what they think the public wants. Nearly half their sales are overseas and it's also high time they became less US-centric with their marketing.

if they could come up with a cheaper and lighter macbook (an e-mac as in new e-books from Asus and the likes ? with a SIM card slot for ubiquitous network connectivity)...
Macbooks are still heavy and the AIR is really expensive ... as everything with Apple

My feeling is this is a mod of the already existing mac mini. I think apple would update the look of it (all aluminum perhaps -- since they have that new manufacturing process they are so happy to boast about).

I am eagerly waiting for the grand launch of apple iphone 4G . i heard it is 2 times faster than apple iphone 3GS
Wheee! Sure hope so! I cant wait for the new Mac Pro!
