Sync Address Book with your Email Accounts

The Address Book App that ships with every Mac is a powerful personal assistant when combined with Mail and iCal. Are you one of those people who find that no matter how hard you try to keep your contact info organized, it always winds up scattered all over? Your dad's IM handle is on your Mac, while that business lead’s fax number is on your iPhone, and lots of email addresses are in your Gmail address book — except your eye doctor’s, which is the one you really need right now…

Address Book gives you the capability to sync your contacts. You can sync contacts from a .Mac Account, Yahoo, Exchange or GMail (OS 10.5.3 or later). To sync an account, launch Address Book and navigate to File>Preferences. Under the General Tab, you will see the option to select the desired account. Enter your name and password and Address book will take care of the rest.

Since you can also sync your Address Book with your iPhone, you will now have access to a comprehensive Address Book directly from your iPhone. For more information about syncing Address Book Contacts and your iPhone read this guide.
