Just to throw this question out there...am I the only one whose USB iPhone charging cable seems to be breaking? I'll upload a picture soon- but I've been noticing it since August and it has gotten progressively worse. The funny thing is that I hardly move the charger from it's position.

Same happened to two of my chargers in the same week. Right where the wire meets the USB the white cord has broken and exposed the metal wiring inside. I through some electrical tape over it but that is a crappy product as my chargers are less then 6 months old and not abused in any way.

I found lots of people complaining about frayed/cracking/broken iPod and iPhone cables, just from normal use.

Some people were able to get Apple to replace under warranty, but the replacement had the same problem (sometimes again and again).

Very surprising, though the headphones are about the same.

Most of the 3rd-party cables are built the same way, but at least sometimes they're cheaper (sometimes $0.01 on eBay), so you can stock up. But also found some people who had problems with the real cheap ones not working at all, shorting out, etc.

I found one company that did something different, a super-strength sync cable, looks like it wouldn't wear out anytime soon. And same price as Apple's cable. http://cablejive.com/duraSync
