Geolocation Support in QuickTime Player X

In our recent coverage of some of the interface tweaks in the upcoming QuickTime Player X, we did not get a chance to mention some interesting code strings that were discovered under the hood. The code suggests that the application will add support for geotagged videos and display the city and country where the video was taken.

Apple Seeds iPhone OS 3.1 Beta 3 to Developers

Apple has seeded iPhone OS 3.1 beta 3 to developers. Developers running 3.1 Beta 2 must upgrade to Beta 3 by midnight to prevent disruption to their service. There is also a new version of the SDK (9M2808) that accompanies the release.

Latest Snow Leopard Build: Wallpapers & QuickTime X Tweaks

Snow Leopard is shaping up really nicely and is on track for the September release date. Late last week, Apple seeded a new build of Snow Leopard to developers via Software update. The new build, 10A421a includes a bunch of new wallpapers, some new User Account avatars and some tweaks to QuickTime Player X's web interface. Apple Seeds Snow Leopard Build 10A394

Apple has seeded a new build (10A394) of their next Operating System - Snow Leopard - to developers. The new seed (655.3MB) was actually pushed through Software Update to systems with build 10A380 installed. While the seed documents only lists bug fixes and stability enhancements, it also brought the highly anticipated 'Dock Exposé' feature.

Snow Leopard Video Tour Series

At WWDC '09, Apple released a near-complete version of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (Build 10A380) to developers. While not feature complete, the new build has most of the important changes that you will see when Snow Leopard ships this fall. Apple has already detailed many of the refinements coming to Snow Leopard on its website, but we know a lot of you also wanted to see them in action. So for your viewing pleasure, we've put together a video tour series of the next big cat coming out of Cupertino.

Apple Releases Bluetooth Update 2.0 & Safari 4.0.1

Along with releasing the iPhone 3.0 OS today, Apple has also pushed out updates for Safari 4.0.1 and Bluetooth Firmware 2.0. The updates are available via Software Updates under the Apple Menu or you can download them directly from Apple's site.

Devs Asked to Test Push Notification with Pre-release AP News App

Apple's much anticipated Push Notification which is due next month is now being tested by developers world wide. All iPhone developers have been provided with a unique redemption code that allows them to download a pre-release version of the Associated Press iPhone app which uses push notification. App Store Submissions now being reviewed on iPhone OS 3.0

More iPhone developer news! Apple today sent out letters to developers informing them that all App Store submissions were now being reviewed on iPhone 3.0 Beta OS. Yesterday, Apple seeded Beta 5 of the iPhone 3.0 OS along with a new version of iTunes. The new OS is expected to be released at this years WWDC. Here is a copy of the email:

iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5 (7A312g)

Apple has seeded build 5 of iphone 3.0 Beta to developers tonight. The new build comes only 8 days after build 4 was seeded. As usual, Beta 5 comes with a new version of iTunes 8.2 and the SDK. Here's what we have so far:

- Tethering still works on AT&T

- MMS has been completely removed.

- Horizonal rotation when view photos has been fixed

Changes in iPhone 3.0 Beta 4 (7A300g) & iTunes 8.2

The Beta 4 of the iPhone 3.0 firmware that was seeded tonight had a few changes that we will highlight in this post. While there are no obvious changes to iTunes 8.2 other than compatibility with iPhone 3.0 Beta 4, we did find something interesting.
