Google Mobile App Gets Interface Polish and New Features
A new version of the Google Mobile App is available on the App Store. This version sports a redesigned search results page that allows you to see more results at once and also opens web pages from the results within the app.
Google has also revealed their previously hidden "Bells & Whistes" preference that allows you to tweak the app with different styles. If you're on a faster iPhone, like the iPhone 3GS, you may want to try the live waveform setting which turns on, as the name suggests, a moving waveform when you search by voice.
Finally, Google has made some improvements with voice search. You can now choose an accent (American, British, or Australian English) which helps to improve voice recognition. Also included is support for Mandarin and Japanese searches which the company announced earlier this week.
Overall, it's a really great update - all I can say is, "Where is my Jamaican accent!"
