Link: Mimeo and the Kleptopus King

Submitted by Chris on February 23, 2010 - 10:20am

Mimeo (even the name) started as a Mario clone with a twist: instead of power-ups affecting the player, they affect the entire game world. A story and mythos quickly developed. The so-called Mimeoverse consists of two 16-bit demiverses sharing 32-bits between them. When the evil Kleptopus King, an 8-bit Octopus with an inferiority complex, discovers a portal into Mimeo’s realm and begins to syphon off its bits, Mimeo is sucked in and downsampled to 2-bit. So begins Mimeo’s quest to restore balance to the demiverses.

Brothers in Arms 2

The highly acclaimed Brothers in Arms series returns for its most compelling battle yet amidst the fires of WWII. Play the solo story mode or battle with up to five friends in multiplayer conflicts across five locations in Africa, Europe and the Pacific. Each environment and character is beautifully rendered in realistic 3D, making the action more life-like as you dive and duck behind cover and assault the enemy. Pick up machine guns, bazookas, sniper rifles, flamethrowers and more, or jump inside a tank and even a glider as you press your way through enemy lines. Check out the cinematic trailer:

New iPhone Ads: 'On Hold' and 'First Steps'

Submitted by Chris on February 22, 2010 - 9:51am

Apple has posted two new iPhone ads on their site. Recently, the company has begun tweaking their advertising strategy, now changing the focus of the iPhone ads from just highlighting apps to showing how people can use their iPhone in different scenarios. In the first ad, Apple shows that you can do multiple things while on a phone call. This seems to be an attempt to counter the incorrect press that they have been getting about the iPhone's inability to multitask. In the second ad they show a simple workflow in which you can take a video, send it to multiple people via MMS and then have a conference call. Check them out:

Remember the iControlPad? Yup, it was nearly two years ago (June, 2008), that the iControlPad project, a d-pad accessory for iPhone was started. After going through many iterations and overcoming various roadblocks, the product is now finally ready for mass production. While the final product is nothing close to what we initially conceived, we're just glad it is finally here!
